1.世紀:
1)用「定冠詞+序數詞+century」表示

例:在十七世紀 寫作:in the 1600s,讀作:in the sixteen hundreds
注意:這種情況下,實際表達的世紀數是阿拉伯數字本身加一。
2.年代
用「定冠詞+(世紀百位進數+十位年代數)+s」表示
例:在二十世紀三十年代 寫作:in the 1930s,讀作:
in the thirties of the twentieth century或 in the ni***een thirties
表示某年代的早期、中期和晚期,可以在定冠詞後新增early, mid-和late
例如:在二十世紀二十年代早期 in the early 1920s

3.年月日
1)年份
1讀年份時一般分為兩個單位來讀,前兩個數為乙個,後兩個數為乙個:
1949 讀作:ni***een forty-nine或ni***een hundred and forty-nine
2 如果是三位數,先讀第一位,再把後兩個數合起來讀:

注意:縮寫形式後面的點不能省略,因為它是表示縮寫形式的符號。
3)日期:
用序數詞表示
例:十月一日 寫作:october 1, october 1st, 1 october, 1st october, (the) 1st of october等,其中的october都可以寫成縮寫形式oct.

4)年月日
用英語表達年月日的順序:

例:2023年1月17日
寫作:january 17(th), 2002或january seventeenth, 2002(日和年之間需用逗號隔開)

4. 介詞的使用:
若指在哪一年或哪一月,用介詞in;若具體到某一天,需用介詞on。

4)she was born on 2nd august, 1989。

一.年份
關於四位數年份的讀法有下列幾種情形:

注意:通常情況下,the 是不讀出來的。
1.朗讀方面
在朗讀時,"月份"一般直接用英語讀出;"日"則要讀成"the 序數詞";年份,一般分為兩個單位來讀,前兩個數為乙個單位,後兩個數為乙個單位。
1982 年讀作 ni***een eighty-two, 1900 年讀作 ni***eenhundred。
如果是三位數,先讀第一位,再把後兩個數合起來讀。
如:984 年可讀為 nine eighty-four,757 年讀成 sevenfifty-seven。

三.英美時間表達之不同
日期的表示法英國和美國稍有不同,英國通常表示為「日—月—年」,美國通常表示為「月—日—年」。如「10月10日」可表示為 october 10,1985(美)或10(th)october, 1985(英)。
注意:最好避免把整個日期都寫成數字, 這在英美語中表示的含義並不相同:如「2.
7. 97」、「2-7-97」、「2/7/97」這類表達,在美國英語中表示「2023年2月7日」,而在英國英語中則表示「2023年7月2日」。
